31 Weeks (well, 32 really)

I'll be 32 weeks tomorrow.  The pics below were taken last weekend at 31 weeks.  It's taken me a week to find the time and energy to post!

Little girl Wynne is getting big and is very, very active.  She's woken me up a few times at 5am with her forceful movements (not to mention jumping on my bladder).  It's like she's saying, "Hey, mom, I know you tried to ignore me there for awhile, but I am not going to take that anymore.  I'm here and I'm coming soon!"

I've been trying to be diligent about doing some yoga on most days.  I have a couple of DVD's that I like, but both annoy me when they talk about stretching the ribs "in order to make space for the baby."  Uh, how about making space for me?!  She is invading my space, not vice-versa.  I will say that the space invasion is good motivation for great posture.  If I slouch, I pretty much can't get a deep breath, so I sit up nice and tall.  Thank you very much, little one.

Given how close we are to welcoming this little lady into our lives, Brian and I have put the brakes on our house search.  Moving while 36 weeks pregnant and then trying to sell our house just seemed like a very bad idea.  So, we are hunkering down in our cozy little home and figuring out how to fit her in.

The other day Brian, Rhys and I were all in the bathroom going through our morning routines and it felt even more crowded than usual.  My belly is taking up all kinds of room, the potty stool we have for Rhys was in the way and the cat was in there too!  I thought to myself...it's a good thing Brian and I genuinely like each other.  These close quarters would be so much tougher if we didn't.

On to the pics...

Undies!

Rhys is potty trained.  It's pretty awesome.  The kid picked it up so quick, it was amazing.  As Brian said, 97% of the credit goes to Rhys, 2% goes to the book we read to get a game plan in order and 1% goes to us (and Katie) for executing said plan.

The title of this post is a little misleading because undies were actually the hardest part of the process.  The method we used to train called for Rhys to be naked for a day, then go commando for a couple of weeks so as not to confuse undies for a diaper.  That all went great and it wasn't until we introduced undies that shit hit the fan.  He was pretty sure they were some sort of torture device.  We finally convinced him to wear them and sealed the deal with a trip to the store for him to pick some out all on his own.

29 Weeks

It's getting harder and harder to ignore the fact that I'm pregnant.  Not that I've been trying to ignore it, per se, but life (aka Rhys) has kept me busy enough that I just haven't focused on being pregnant.  Now, though, it's starting to change.  I am definitely getting bigger and little girl Wynne is making her presence known with much more forceful kicks and rolls.  So, yeah, apparently we're going to have a baby.  And she's due in just 11 weeks.  Holy crap.

It's no secret that I struggled a lot, and for a long time, after Rhys was born.  I am praying for a different outcome this time, but trying to be prepared for something similar.  It makes for an odd emotional roller coaster of hopeful excitement and pure terror.

Anyway, this whole thing is real enough now that we finally got our act together and took some baby bump pictures.
